Over the years T.Clarke Scotland has formed close links with SECTT and SNIPEF, the National Training Bodies, to ensure the ever needing flow of school leavers to undertake apprenticeships. The Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECTT) is a non-profit making organisation that is concerned only with the training of apprentices within the SJIB Apprenticeship Scheme. The trust was established by SELECT and Unite the Union who appoint an equal number of trustees as their representatives.

The SJIB Training Scheme is the only industry approved training scheme for Electrical Contracting apprenticeships in Scotland. This scheme is designed to regulate the entry, conditions of service, training and education of apprentices in the Electrical Contracting Industry. The SJIB have delegated the management of their Training Scheme to SECTT.

SNIPEF Training Services acts as the Managing Agent & Training Provider for the Modern Apprenticeship (MA) in Plumbing in Scotland. The MA programme is designed to train apprentices in all aspects of domestic plumbing and heating. In Northern Ireland, Apprentice training is managed by PMST, a company set up by SNIPEF and BEST the training agency of the HVCA. Summit Skills is the sector skills council for the Building Services Sector and they are responsible for developing the content of the apprenticeship training programme.

Ongoing training is available to those that show the ability for progression to higher technical, supervision or managerial positions. The majority of our senior management followed this path.
